Ms Francene Kavanagh is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of nursing expertise on the Mornington Peninsula. She began her career as a perioperative Registered Nurse, working across both public and private hospitals, and continues her passion for the operating theatre as an accredited surgical assistant.

For over a decade, Fran has worked in plastic surgery with a focus on skin cancer detection and wound care, areas that remain central to her practice today. After completing her Master of Nurse Practitioner Studies, she has been working in primary care, where she combines her clinical skills with a commitment to improving community health outcomes.

Fran has a diverse scope of practice with special interests in women’s health (including contraception and menopause management), chronic disease management, wound care, telehealth and virtual care delivery, and skin cancer prevention and treatment. She is also dedicated to health education and mentoring, supporting the next generation of clinicians.

Through the establishment of Skin Check and Wound Care Victoria, Fran is helping meet the growing needs of the Mornington Peninsula community with a focus on accessible, high-quality care.
